April 28th
It is that time again.Coastal's Thursday Night Race Series being held in Richmond starting this Thursday May 1st, and runs to the end of August. Please see the Coastal web site for details. First race is at 6:30, with Sign in open at 5:30PM. Please bring your license to the first race. Also in aiding efficiency, if you could take the time to fill out a waiver and a registration form prior to your first race, this will help with the organizers getting your contact information correct the first time and speed up registration for all. I encourage as many of you to come out as possible. This race series is perfect for the novice racer wanting a first try at what racing is all about, and for the not so serious racer in getting out for some friendly competition. Also good for the racer wanting to build some high end workouts into the training program. Please note, this is a CLUB race series, not a sanctioned series. Please help keep these races in the calendar by helping to support by coming out to race!
April 24th
CVC would like to welcome new members Patrik Parkes and Julian Ospina to our club. Patrik is a former racer, looking to get back into the swing of things, and Julian a triathelete is looking to try his hand at road racing. Please join me in making both of these gentlemen feel welcome.
March 26th
CVC would like to welcome back, Gary Young whom is back in Vancouver and will be riding with CVC. If you know Gary, you will remember his sense of humour that breaks the monotony of those long rides, and of course his dog REM who straps on the doggles and joins us for the odd ride as well.
March 27th
WEEKDAY RIDES START APRIL 2! Our first series of scheduled weeknight rides will be on Wednesdays starting April 2, 2008. Rides will leave Salt Spring Coffee Co (Main/27th), at 5:45PM. Historically, this has been a Horseshoe Bay ride, followed by laps of Stanley Park as light allows. The out and back route is great for slower riders to be picked up on the return by the faster riders, so no one will ride alone. Hope to see you out.

 CVC Would like to congratulate the birth of Dustin Dickout's first child, Mila Lee who was born on March 6th. We wish him, his wife Lisa and his new daughter all the best, and Dustin, good luck at your new training plan on how to be a dad! Looking forward to seeing you back on the bike soon.

A reminder to get in touch with Max Feldman about volunteering your services at the CVC and Atomic Racing presentation of the 2008 Harris Roubaix on April 13th. Max has reserved a few spaces for racers as well. first come first served.

CVC would like to welcome 1 new member, and 1 returning member, Dan Bradley and Dino Nore. Dan is a former racer from Alberta that is looking forward to getting fast on a bike again, while Dino a veteran of the Masters scene, comes back to CVC to represent us there. Join me in welcoming these two new additions, and making them feel at home.

Reminder that to set your clocks ahead one hour this weekend, and that Sunday rides start at 9am!!
Febraury 26th
Mark off April 13th in your Calendar! This is the date for the 2nd Annual CVC/Atomic Harris Roubaix in Pitt Meadows.
Last year was a great success for both clubs and this year promises to be even better. To make this awesome race happen
we need the support of our CVC community on race day. For those of you that race, you know how crucial race volunteers
are. Without you, these events dont happen. If you are available on Sunday April 13th, we need you! Please let me know
asap if you will be available to volunteer on the day of race. Please be aware that some duties start at 5am so if that
doesn't work for you, let me know and we'll get you a later start time. Please be aware that race day duties run from
5am to about 3pm. For those of you itching to race this year... congratulations, its free! However, we have only made a
few spots available so please let me know your intention to race asap. I look forward to hearing back from
